All Home Office Applications in the UK 

Examples of Total Costs for Common Scenarios: 

British Nationality by Naturalisation 

Scenario: Application for British citizenship by naturalisation for an individual meeting all eligibility requirements. 

Legal Fees: £800 (initial fee) + £400 (success fee, payable if application is successful) = £1,200 

Home Office Fee: £1,630 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

VAT: £0 (no VAT on Home Office fees) 

Total Price: £1,200 (legal fees) + £1,630 (Home Office fee) = £2,830 

Leave to Remain (Family and Private Life) 

Scenario: Application for leave to remain based on family or private life in the UK. 

Legal Fees: £800 (initial fee) + £400 (success fee, payable if application is successful) = £1,200 

Home Office Fee: £1,258 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

Immigration Health Surcharge: £2,587.50 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

Biometric Appointment Fee: £138 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

VAT: £0 (no VAT on Home Office fees) 

Total Price: £1,200 (legal fees) + £1,258 + £2,587.50 + £138 = £5,183.50 

Asylum Representation 

Scenario: Representation for an asylum claim (private fee, as legal aid is not provided by Joshi Advocates). 

Legal Fees: £900 + VAT (£180) = £1,080 

Home Office Fee: £0 (no fee for asylum applications) 

VAT: £180 (included in legal fees) 

Total Price: £1,080 


Entry Clearance Applications (Spouse Visa, Family Reunion, Parent Visa, etc.) 

Examples of Total Costs for Common Scenarios: 

Spouse Visa 

Scenario: Application for a spouse visa for a partner living outside the UK. 

Legal Fees: £1,200 (no VAT for entry clearance applications) 

Home Office Fee: £1,858 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

Immigration Health Surcharge: £3,101 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

Biometric Appointment Fee: £138 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

VAT: £0 (no VAT on Home Office fees) 

Total Price: £1,200 (legal fees) + £1,858 + £3,101 + £138 = £6,297 

Parent Visa 

Scenario: Application for a parent visa for a parent living outside the UK. 

Legal Fees: £1,200 (no VAT for entry clearance applications) 

Home Office Fee: £1,858 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

Immigration Health Surcharge: £3,101 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

Biometric Appointment Fee: £138 (paid directly to the Home Office) 

VAT: £0 (no VAT on Home Office fees) 

Total Price: £1,200 (legal fees) + £1,858 + £3,101 + £138 = £6,297 


Other Services 

Examples of Total Costs for Common Scenarios: 

Home Office Bail Application 

Scenario: Application for bail to the Home Office. 

Legal Fees: £500 + VAT (£100) = £600 

Home Office Fee: £0 (no fee for bail applications) 

VAT: £100 (included in legal fees) 

Total Price: £600 

Appeal Preparation and Hearing 

Scenario: Preparation and representation for an immigration appeal hearing. 

Legal Fees: £1,200 + VAT (£240) = £1,440 

Court Fee: £140 (paid directly to the court) 

VAT: £240 (included in legal fees) 

Total Price: £1,440 (legal fees) + £140 (court fee) = £1,580 

Judicial Review 

Scenario: Application for judicial review of a Home Office decision. 

Legal Fees: £1,500 + VAT (£300) = £1,800 

Court Fee: £154 (paid directly to the court) 

VAT: £300 (included in legal fees) 

Total Price: £1,800 (legal fees) + £154 (court fee) = £1,954 


What’s Included in Our Legal Fees 

Review of documentation and initial assessment of your case. 

Preparation and submission of the application to the Home Office. 

Correspondence with you regarding progress and outcome of the case. 

What’s Not Included 

Third-Party Costs: Home Office fees, court fees, interpreter/translator costs, and other disbursements are payable directly by you to the relevant third party. 

VAT: Where applicable, VAT is added to our legal fees. 

Unforeseen Costs: Any additional work required due to complex circumstances will be explained and agreed upon in advance. 


Timescales 

Stage 1: Written legal advice on your visa application options, including a list of required documents, related costs, and chances of success. 

Stage 2: Submission of your application to the Home Office on the same day as your appointment, provided all required documents are submitted. 

Stage 3: Prompt notification of the Home Office decision and advice on next steps. 

Note: Home Office and court decision timelines vary and are outside our control. Typical processing times range from 6 to 12 months or longer.

  • Home Office fees, court fees, and other disbursements are subject to change. Please check the Home Office website for the most up-to-date fees. 
  • VAT is applicable only to our legal fees and not to third-party costs.
